What Jesus did

today, I was reading Lamentation 1 and 2, and I noticed something. this was especially true in Lamentation 1. In that chapter, Jeremiah talks about how Jerusalem was abandoned by god, how He vented His anger on them. It came to me that this is exactly what happened to jesus. When Jesus died on the cross, He had to feel such despair, pain, and sadness. We know He felt abandoned by God because He said so. He faced the full wrath of god so we wouldn’t have to. he was abandoned so we would never be. I can’t realize all of that without saying, “thank You, jesus!” It’s almost incomprehensible, it’s so overwhelming.
