Giving Thanks For Everything

Yes, you heard me right. I have been going through the “Jesus Calling” devotion by Sara Young, and ts exactly what today’s message said. Give thanks for everything. Some teachers have said, “You don’t need to give thanks for everything, but just in everything.” But the Bible does say give thanks “for” everything as well. Look up Ephesians 5:20 and you wee it clear as day. Romans 8:28 says that the Lord works all things for good for those who love him and are called according to His purpose. This message also said that if we thank Him for everything, we can receive peace despite our feelings and joy despite our circumstances. So let’s try this. Who is going to join me”I thank You, Lord, even for my injured leg and its twinging every so often because now, I can understand others’ pain better. I thank You, Rwhen my husband puts me down for something he feels I did wrong because maybe I can learn a life lesson to help improve me in the future. I thank You, God, when I have a demanding customer because then, I can learn patience.
So, with everything that happens today, let’s make a conscious effort to give thanks for that thing and also, to try and see how it can be turned, if it is a negative, into a positive. And if we can’t see that part of it right away, still thank Him for it because eventually, we will see it and all will be worked out for good. And let me tell you: I’m saying this to myself as much as to anyone else. I probably need this more than anyone else reading this today.
