Looking to God and a Random Thought

Still reading in the book of 1 Samuel. ëirst, the people wanted a king to fight their battles instead of relying on God. How often do we look to someone to help us rather than to God? Yet God has everything in His control if you look to Him. Lootk how he orchestrated the missing donkeys and yet brought  Saul back safely. Now here is a random thought. The servant offered his half-shekel of silver. He could have said,  “hey, it’s his job. I’m just the servant. Why should I give any extra not required of me”” Do we ever do this inur work, not do anything beyond our requiremens? How convicting!
